Tour de Touchdown

Alex Katsnselson, Zach Bonheyo, Lucas Wyshnytzky, and Tyler Johnson with Coach Brett Bielema
Our chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon conducts a philanthropy event every fall known as Tour de Touchdown.  The event includes fundraising efforts throughout the entire year, with the capstone being a bike ride from our chapter house in Madison to a rival Big Ten School for the Saturday game against our Badgers.  The bike riders deliver the game football - supplied and signed by Badger Head Football Coach Bret Bielema.

This year we biked to Michigan State University in East Lansing for the game on October 22nd, 2011.

All of the proceeds raised through Tour de Touchdown are donated to UW Health's American Family Children's Hospital.  Through this event, over the previous 16 years, we have raised over $125,000 for the Children’s Hospital.

If you have any questions/concerns about Tour de Touchdown or would like to know how to donate to our cause, please don't hesitate to contact our Philanthropy Directors directly at sigep.wibeta.tdt@gmail.com.

Throughout the semester, though, you can find SigEp Brothers:
  • Collaborating with local and national businesses to support Tour de Touchdown
  • Getting the community involved by going door-to-door and collecting statements of support, along with donations for the Hospital
  • Organizing a flag-football tournament, "Powderpuff Flag Football," in which the lovely ladies of the numerous sororities on campus support the Hospital by competing in a flag-football tournament held in Camp Randall.
  • Serving food at the Children's Hospital to children and families of the children who are patients at the Hospital

Powderpuff Football Tournament
One of the major events we hold to raise money for the UW Health's American Family Children's Hospital is an annual Powderpuff football tournament in which each sorority enlists teams of hard-hitting girls to compete against each other to be the Powderpuff Champion. Brothers of Sigma Phi Epsilon team up with different sororities to help coach them to victory. Traditionally done before our seniors bike the game ball, our annual Powderpuff tournament is a unique fundraiser within the Greek community - and definitely one of the most enjoyable.
